I appreciate everything that you provided! I do have a question though. When I input my accounts into the document, how will I go about adding my credit cards? From what I understand, it totals up the amount of money in my accounts that I am able to use? Should I be putting the available credit I have in my cards? Thanks!

Sincerely,
Alex

It inspired me a ton when making my spreadsheet. I’ve been using the same spreadsheet for years now and making iterations over time. The latest iteration was including an expense chart by category to track category spending over time – it’s really helped me visualize where I spend money and where I’m doing well on cutting back. Would love to get your thoughts on what I put together and see if you have any recommendations for me? Thanks!! It’s on this page: https://regpaq.com/google-sheets-budget-template

After a really long time trying all sorts of spreadsheets, apps etc… this is the first one that really nails it! Awesome work!
The only thing I find to not work as i would expect is the rollover part. I’d like to use this feature but maybe the formula is not exactly right?
Say I had a budget of $100 for June and I spent $90, the remaining $10 should rollover to July, right?
Or the other way around: I overspent by $10 – that’ll be deducted from my July budget. Hope I’m getting this right so far.
I find that if it there was a deviation from the budget, the amount displayed in the rollover for the next month is the amount SPENT on the month before, and not the difference between what has been spent and the budget (what appears in the “Remaining” column).
I tried to fix it by changing the formula to:
=if(or(isblank($B25), iferror(filter(Setup!$P$46:$P$70, Setup!$B$46:$B$70=$B25)=FALSE), false), “”, iferror(SUM(iferror(FILTER(FILTER(Setup!$C$46:$N$70, Setup!$B$46:$B$70 = $B25), Setup!$C$109:$N$109 < DATEVALUE(CONCAT(CONCAT($K$7, " 01 "), Setup!$C$8))), 0), iferror(FILTER(Setup!$Q$46:$Q$70, Setup!$B$46:$B$70 = $B25),0))-IFERROR(SUM(FILTER(Expenses!$C:$C, Expenses!$B:$B < $J$9, Expenses!$G:$G = $B25)),0),0))

The last part [Expenses!$G:$G = $B25)),0),0))] is what I changed: so it'll show the amount remaining from last month in the next month.. but this obviously doesn't work because when I change the month, the formula doesn't have a different point of reference, it "looks" at the same "Remaining" column of the same month..

Not sure how to solve this, and maybe it's not worth the hassle (I can also change the rollover amount manually), but if you have a quick solution I will really appreciate it.

Thank you!

First of all, thank you so much for creating this resource. I started using this budget at start of this year and I have been loving it. It is really comprehensive, easy to use!
However, I would love it if there was a “Savings” category so that I could separate it from “Expenses” and be able to see how close I am to my goals.
